Time After Time is directed by Nicholas Meyer and stars Malcolm McDowell, David Warner, and Mary Steenburgen. In 1893 London, before he became known historically as the “father of science fiction,” writer H.G. Wells (McDowell) is hosting a dinner party where he reveals a time machine that he has invented. Unfortunately, one of his guests is the infamous Jack the Ripper (Warner), of whom takes the opportunity to use the time machine to escape impending arrest. Wells has no choice but to follow one of history’s most well-known serial killers in a race through time. Landing in 1979’s San Francisco, Wells enlists the help of a bank employee named Amy (Steenburgen) to help him navigate the modern world. Meanwhile, Jack the Ripper is up to his old tricks, and the two must find a way to stop this latest killing spree.
