Fans of Beetlejuice have cause to rejoice today! Winona Ryder was a guest on Late Night With Seth Myers recently and the actress confirmed that she will be on board for the long buzzed about second installment in the Beetlejuice series. The sequel has suffered through development hell for years but it seems as though things are finally coming together, with both Michael Keaton and Tim Burton confirming that they are on board. And now we officially have word that Ryder is game as well. Check out the video excerpt confirming her involvement below!
“I think I can confirm it because Tim Burton did this interview,” Ryder explained. “It was very hush-hush, top secret, ‘I don’t know what may happen, I don’t know,’ and then he was doing some press for ‘Big Eyes’ and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah, we’re doing it and Winona’s gonna be in it.’ So can I say…? I mean if he said it. But I really don’t know much more than anybody else.”
The original film sees a pair of recently deceased ghosts trying to exorcise the new (living) inhabitants of their home by enlisting the services of a bio-exorcist.
