Like many good horror films, and personally my favorite type, The Quiet Ones, Directed by John Pogue, is inspired by a true story.
An unorthodox professor, Joseph Coupland played by Jared Harris, uses controversial methods and encourages his students to take part in dangerous experiments to try create a poltergeist, based on the theory that paranormal activity is caused by human negative energy. The scientists take to tormenting a young woman by performing a series of tests on her, hoping that this will create the creature they want, but things quickly spiral out of control.
As frightening occurrences begin to take place with shocking and gruesome consequences, the group quickly realizes they have triggered a force more terrifying and evil than they ever could have imagined.
I’m excited about all the horror films coming out this year and The Quiet Ones, starring Olivia Cooke, is another that looks promising, released at the end of April, fingers crossed it is! I’ll be watching it either way!
