Life After Beth – Upcoming Horror Movie

In Life After Beth, Zach is startled to learn that his late girlfriend Beth is back from the dead. After the initial shock wears off, he learns that the state in which Beth has returned to the world of the living is not the same in which she left it. Namely, she has a constant hankering for human flesh. The upcoming zom-com is written and directed by Jeff Baena in his feature film directorial debut. Baena previously penned the script for the quirky 2004 comedy I Heart Huckabees. The young director has assembled an impressive cast for a lower budget independent horror film. He has several recognizable names behind this motion picture.

Life After Beth stars Aubrey Plaza (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) as Beth, Dane DeHaan (True Blood) as Beth’s boyfriend Zach, and Anna Kendrick (ParaNorman) as Erica. Life After Beth is also noteworthy for featuring support performances from comedic actors Molly Shannon and John C. Reilly.

Early screenings have garnered several positive reviews for the film. Critics have spoken almost unanimously in favor of Aubrey Plaza’s performance and some have also spoken well of Baena’s script and direction. The film was shot over the course of approximately one month in 2013 and will enjoy a limited theatrical bow on August 15, 2014.
