The Swiss horror film Chimeres made its world premier at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival and will make its VOD debut on August 19th. Distribution comes courtesy of a partnership between The Orchard and Shock Till You Drop.  The film stars Jasna Kohoutova and Yannick Rosset. It also features a supporting performance from Catriona MacColl (City of the Living Dead). This is the first major screen role for both Kohoutova and Rosset. The film is directed by Olivier Beguin and it marks his first foray into feature filmmaking. Beguin had previously helmed a series of short films.

The setup goes something like this: Alexandre and his lady friend Livia are vacationing in Romania when Alexandre is involved in an automobile accident. He is subsequently taken to the hospital for a blood transfusion. After receiving new blood, Alexandre begins to suspect that he has contracted some sort of disease from the transfusion. He becomes obsessed with the possibility that he has contracted something and thus begins to put strain on his relationship with Livia.

Advance reviews have been primarily positive but you will have the chance to check it out for yourself next week.
