Honeymoon follows newlywed couple Bea and Paul as they visit Bea’s family cabin for their honeymoon. Shortly after their arrival, Bea turns up missing. Paul later finds her lost in the woods and brings her back to the cabin. Soon thereafter, Bea begins exhibiting strange and erratic behavior that only gets worse as the days progress.
The upcoming low-budget horror film Honeymoon is co-written and directed by Leigh Janiak. It marks Janiak’s feature film directorial debut. But in spite of a lack of time spent in the director’s chair and limited budgetary funds, Janiak is garnering a great deal of praise for her first feature. The early reviews from SXSW were overwhelmingly positive. Both genre film critics and mainstream film journalists have spoken very highly of the film. It currently holds a 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film stars Rose Leslie (Game of Thrones) as Bea and Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful) as Paul. Honeymoon is slated for a simultaneous limited theatrical and VOD release beginning September 12, 2014. We will keep you in the loop as more details are made available.
