Fans of Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake, from 2013, may be few and far between, but if there’s one thing for which the flick cannot be faulted it’s the gloriously gooey gore.
While doing press for his latest feature, Alvarez let slip that there may be even more gore in store as an extended, unrated cut of the flick is on the way this coming Halloween.
Dread Central reports that the writer-director let the news slip during a chat with Altapeli, stating:
the extended cut [of THE Evil Dead REMAKE] will be coming out on Blu-ray. It sounds like it will be available just in time for Halloween
We can expect a Blu-ray release of the extended cut some time in October. Good news for gore-hounds, bad news for purists.
