In case you missed it, Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘R Treat graphic novel is now available. It expands on the universe created in the film and lays the groundwork for the long awaited second installment.
Creator Michael Dougherty has said the following about the literary expansion: “Hopefully the fans who’ve been patiently waiting for Trick ‘r Treat 2 will enjoy this deeper peek into Sam’s world until he finally rises from the pumpkin patch once more.”
In addition to Dougherty, Krampus co-writers Todd Casey and Zach Shields also worked on the creation of the book. Also on board were Mark Andreyko, Fiona Staples, Stephen Byrne, Stuart Sayger, and Zid.
The book is available now via Amazon and other retailers. It may just make a great Christmas present for yourself or the horror fan in your life!
As for the Trick ‘R Treat feature film sequel, Michael Dougherty has said as recently as September of 2015 that the project is still going to happen. The filmmaker explained in an interview with IGN that the project is still on his radar but that it had to be put on hold because of Krampus. He wanted to get Krampus made before the trend peaked but still has plans to bring Trick ‘R Treat 2 to life when the timing is right.
