Actor Paul T. Taylor recently sat down with TrunkSpace to discuss his turn in the upcoming Hellraiser: Judgment. Taylor elaborated on taking over the iconic role, the possibility of playing Pinhead again in future sequels, and even suggested that he would love to fill the shoes of another legendary horror icon one day.
On appearing as Pinhead in another sequel: “I would love to play Pinhead again. This opportunity came along and it was totally unexpected. Here I am suddenly portraying my favorite horror icon of all time. I’ve been working as a professional actor for 35 years. It’s not like it’s an overnight thing. I earned it in a way, but it was still a surprise!”
On potentially filling the shoes of another horror icon: “I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately, it’s not just Pinhead that I want to play. I mean, I want to…who’s to say that the Bela Lugosi, or the Boris Karloff or the Christopher Lee kind of thing couldn’t happen for an actor these days? Those actors played more than Frankenstein, played more than Dracula. You know, Christopher Lee…I don’t even know how many characters he played. A horror actor’s career should be more than one character and if there are other icons that someone wants me to play…Freddy Krueger, hint, hint…sure! It’s not like I would say no to that. Again though, this is BIG dreams, but I believe in big dreams. If you can’t dream it, it’s not gonna happen.
In addition to Taylor, the film also stars Damon Carney (The Hitcher 2007), Randy Wayne (True Blood), Alexandra Harris (The Veil 2016), John Gulagher (Director of Piranha 3DD and Feast), Diane Goldner (The Collector), Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Mike Jay Regan (Hellraiser: Inferno), Jeff Fenter (The Final), Grace Montie (Southern Tale) and newcomer Helena Grace Donald.
As well as assuming directorial duties on the upcoming sequel, effects artist Gary J. Tunnicliffe also penned the screenplay for this upcoming installment. It was previously announced that Judgment would see release on March 28, 2017 but that has since been debunked by Dimension. According to the studio, the film does not yet have a release date.
“Detectives Sean and David Carter are on the case to find a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the city. Joining forces with Detective Christine Egerton, they dig deeper into a spiraling maze of horror that may not be of this world. Could the Judgment awaiting the killer’s victims also be waiting for Sean?”
