MTV debuted an exclusive sneak peak at the upcoming redux of Stephen King’s IT during the MTV Movie Awards. And we have it available for you to check out below.
The footage featured below is a dramatic departure from the previous trailer. It zeroes in on The Loser’s Club and doesn’t even give us a glimpse of Pennywise until the final frame. Take a look for yourself and let us know your thoughts.
The first installment in the two-part remake stars Bill Skarsgård, Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs, Sophia Lillis, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.
What we know about the first half of the reduxis that it will be R-rated. Also, the creative team says that their intent is to stay as close to the source material as possible.
Original director Cary Fukunaga reportedly departed the remake over budgetary disagreements with New Line. Andrés ‘Andy’ Muschietti (Mama) was later tapped to helm the project. The film is set for theatrical release on September 8, 2017.
Like the 1991 television miniseries, the forthcoming remake is based on the Stephen King book of the same name. No additional details on the upcoming project are available at this time but stay tuned to the site in the coming months and we will keep you apprised as more news is announced about this project.
