Legendary Entertainment’s Skull Island is getting ready to roar!
Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) will direct a script written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla). The film will be follow-up to the Peter Jackson directed King Kong remake that was released in 2005, and will explore the mysterious island that was the home of Kong and other terrifying prehistoric creatures.
Skull Island will focus on the giant gorilla’s mysterious and dangerous world, something previous films in the genre have only touched on.
Character details are not currently available but Tom Hiddleston who is currently working on I Saw the Light with Elizabeth Olsen, has been signed on to take the lead role in Skull Island. Hiddleston shot to international fame playing Loki in the two Thor movies that were produced by Marvel, as well as the same studio’s two Avengers films.
Universal Pictures will distribute Skull Island on November 4, 2016.
