Deadline reports that the upcoming ‘re-imagining’ of 1990 shocker Jacob’s Ladder has just added Nicole Beharie, of TV’s Sleepy Hollow fame, to its ranks.
Beharie’s character, Abbie Mills, was unceremoniously killed off in the season three finale of the hit show, leading fans to voice their outrage on Twitter with the hashtag #CancelSleepyHollow trending soon after the episode aired.
In a piece entitled “Why Sleepy Hollow Just Lost Any Faith Fans Had Left in It”, Vulture’s Nichole Perkins described the managing of Mills’ character as “terrible” and the death as “one of the most unsatisfactory goodbyes in recent memory”.
Beharie joins fellow TV stars Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) and Michael Ealy (The Following) in the Jacob’s Ladder reboot, which is being directed by David M. Rosenthal (The Perfect Guy) from a screenplay by Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train) and Jake Wade Wall, who scripted the remakes of both The Hitcher and When A Stranger Calls.
The flick is due to begin shooting next month.
