The team behind this summer’s monster blockbuster will be rejoining for its sequel!
Godzilla may have divided audiences but the reboot by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures was a large success grossing $524.9 million worldwide.
Max Borenstein wrote the latest relaunch of the reptile beast and will be returning with director Gareth Edwards for the next installment scheduled for a 2018 release.
Godzilla is a solid product but there’s always room to grow. Expectations will undoubtedly be high for Godzilla 2, especially after Edwards used his appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 to tease the possible return of iconic monsters: Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah.
The sequel to our favorite destructive hero Godzilla, is scheduled for release on June 8th 2018.
Borenstein is also providing the screenplay for another Legendary monster feature, the King Kong prequel Skull Island which hits theaters on November 4, 2016 and will star Tom Hiddleston.
