Anyone who’s been lucky enough to share their life with a four-legged, feline friend will know that cats react to most things in much the same way as humans–often even more so. But how do they feel about horror movies? Do our feline companions have the capacity to handle scary stuff better than their human owners? The answer, it appears, would be a resounding ‘no’ as a new viral video shows a cute, young cat this is just as terrified of horror movies as we are.
The short video, which you can watch below, shows Togepi, a 9-month-old Tabby-Bengal-mix kitten, watching horror classic Psycho. In particular, Togepi is watching one of the most infamous scenes in the film, when Lila Crane discovers the mummified skeleton of Norma Bates sitting in a rocking chair.
The kitty is visibly terrified throughout the video, but she really loses it when the body is revealed, leaping into the air and disappearing out of sight. Of course, we can’t really judge–most of us didn’t sleep for a week after watching Psycho for the first time.
