Blumhouse Moving Forward With Purge TV Series!

Blumhouse is launching an independent television studio. According to THR, the newly-minted venture will scripted and non-scripted series in the dark realm. A Purge TV series is already in the works with Universal television. The program is being developed for both SyFy and USA. It will air on both networks.

James DeMonaco wrote and directed the first three installments in the series. And he will also be overseeing the production of the small screen adaptation.

No word, just yet on when we can expect the show to hit the airwaves but we do know that a writers room has already been set up. Stay tuned to the site in the coming months as we will let you know more as it is announced!

The films in The Purge franchise take place in a future where one night a year, all crime is legal. Anyone not lucky enough to be secured behind double reinforced steel doors with a state-of-the-art alarm system and bulletproof glass has the potential for a very bad night. In the most recent installmenta senator running for President on the platform of ending The Purge is targeted by a group of assassins intent upon putting an end to her rise to power.
