Benicio Del Toro Circling The Predator?

Predator Sequel Movie

It’s been a little while since any real news has broken on upcoming reboot The Predator. But now it seems like there’s some pretty huge casting news afoot.

According to Deadline, Benicio Del Toro is “in early talks” to star in The Predator, the planned reboot of the classic action sci-fi horror that is being directed by Shane Black, who co-starred in the original 1987 movie (he was the first to die).

The Predator is a collaboration between Black, who’s known mostly for action-comedies such as Lethal Weapon and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and writer Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad).

Black has emphatically stated he wishes to make The Predator an event film, with a hard R-rating.

Only little snippets are known about the movie thus far, with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s involvement still up in the air (though, as we reported previously, rapper Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson seems pretty convinced he’s been cast).

When the project was first announced, it was rumored that it would be a direct sequel to the first film, ignoring everything that came after it. And it seems as though that may still be the case.

The movie is due to begin shooting this fall. It was initially due to hit theatres on March 2nd, 2018, but is now slated for release on February 9th instead.
