Amityville: The Awakening Pushed Back, Again

The Amityville house.

Last we had heard, Amityville: The Awakening was slated for release in mid March 2016. Today brings the news that the film will be released later than expected. Head inside for the full announcement!

The new release date is only two weeks beyond the previously planned release but for a film that has been pushed and pulled so many times, this is becoming a bit tedious. Currently, Rings, another title that has been pushed by its distributor a number of times is slated to release the same day, so this seems a curious choice for Dimension.

You probably already know all about the fiasco in which Dimension Films inexplicably pulled Amityville: The Awakening from its upcoming release schedule. But just in case, here’s the rundown: It was initially planned for a January 2, 2015 release. In a recent interview, Jason Blum explained that his production company was still working out the details of postproduction with Dimension. Then, the film was retitled from Amityville: The Awakening to Amityville: The Reawakening. Then, Blum took to Twitter to announce a mid March release for the film.

Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more on this title as it is announced by Dimension.
