John Brennan waxes nostalgic on one of the most terrifying movies of all time — the original The Exorcist from 1973!
The Exorcist is one of those watershed horror movies that doesn’t even really NEED an introduction anymore. Even if you don’t know anything about horror films you probably know the finer points of the movie: the spinning heads, the pukin’ on priests, the part where Regan takes a crucifix and shoves it in her … well, like I said upfront, this movie REALLY doesn’t need much of an introduction anymore.
The Exorcist is a seminal horror movie for a reason and its reputation as one of, if not THE, most terrifying movies of all time is hardly in doubt. So who better to discuss the minutiae of William Friedkin’s 1973 classic than the one and only JOHN BRENNAN — the musical maestro of The Last Drive-In, Up All Night an Troma fame!
Like a lot of people, Brennan was straight up traumatized by the film, which he has no problem identifying as the single SCARIEST movie he’s ever seen. But there’s obviously a lot of deeper nuance to the movie — as John so eloquently outlines in this special VIDEO INTERVIEW below:
