Frightfest 2016 Interview: Alanna LeVierge

It’s difficult to believe that Let Her Out, a body horror shocker from the twisted mind of Cody Calahan (Antisocial 1 and 2) is the debut feature of actress Alanna LeVierge.

So assured, fearless and star-making is her central performance as tortured protagonist Helen, one could easily imagine LeVierge ascending the ranks to accompany the likes of Barbara Crampton as a bonafide Scream Queen.

Let Her Out follows Helen, a bike courier who suffers a traumatic accident. As she recovers, Helen begins to experience strange episodic-black outs, hallucinations, and night terrors, leading her to discover that she has a tumor, a benign growth that is the remnants of a “vanishing twin” absorbed in utero. Over time, the tumor manifests itself as the dark and demented version of a stranger. As Helen’s emotional and psychological state begins to deteriorate, she starts acting out in psychotic episodes that are influenced by her evil twin – making her a danger to herself and her best friend, Molly

Calahan co-wrote the screenplay with Adam Seybold. Providing ample support for LeVierge in the movie are Nina Kiri, Adam Christie, Kate Fenton. Elsewhere, the special effects truly must be seen to be believed.

Wicked Horror caught up with LeVierge at Frightfest 2016 to discuss what attracted her to the role of Helen, the process of getting inside such a damaged mind and how it really feels to be covered in so much fake blood.

Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for the latest horror news and more must-watch interviews from Frightfest 2016, along with reviews of some of this year’s most anticipated movies.
